Avoid damaging electrical cables
The PMD 10 means that DIYers never again have to worry about damaging live cables when they are drilling. The “Metal” function button allows the detector to precisely locate iron and non-ferrous metals in masonry at detection depths of up to 10 cm and up to 8 cm respectively. The “Drywall” function allows wooden studs to be detected at up to 2.5 cm. The tool can locate live cables at a detection depth of up to 5 cm using both functions. The result of the search is easy to gauge from the coloured LED ring: If the colour is green, you can drill safely.

The tool can locate iron up to a maximum detection depth of 10 cm, non-ferrous metals at up to 8 cm, live cables at up to 5 cm and wooden studs at up to 2.5 cm. The tool is comfortable to work with thanks to an integrated handle and weight of just 289 g. This self-calibrating detector is easy to use with its five operating buttons to manage the display illumination, audio signal and different modes for metal or drywall. Depending on the result of your search, an audible signal will sound and the drilling recommendation will be indicated by the coloured LED ring.
Easy to operate thanks to the traffic light principle
With an integrated handle and weight of just 289 g, the PMD 10 is comfortable and safe to work with. Thanks to the automatic calibration feature, the tool is always ready to use – ruling out the chance of improper application resulting from incorrect calibration. The remarkably simple operation takes place using one of the two modes: “Drywall” calibrates the tool to detect wooden and metal objects and live cables in sections of drywall, while the “Metal” mode is suitable for detecting magnetic, non-magnetic and live cables, independent of the nature of the wall. The LED light makes it easier to interpret your findings thanks to its traffic light colour system: A green light means that it is safe to drill, a yellow light means that drilling is not advisable and a red light means that an object has been found and that drilling should not be carried out under any circumstances. The LED ring flashes when a live cable is detected. The detection result can be read off the illuminated display.
