Detecting Counterfeit Bills With Infrared

Authentic US bills are minted with a security strip that will only appear under the observation of infrared. This is different from the security thread present in authentic bills as the IR security strip will not appear under a fluorescent bulb and will not glow under UV light. Each US currency denomination has its own specific and unique strip location.
