This GoldX® QuickConnect® FireWire cable with its proprietary set of ends eliminates that problem. Connect the 9-pin male (IEEE-1394b connector) to one end and one 6-pin male (powered connector) to the other to connect FireWire IEEE-1394b device to a FireWire computer or a FireWire device to a FireWire IEEE-1394b computer. Connect the 9-pin male (IEEE-1394b connector) to one end and one 4-pin male (non-powered connector) to the other to connect self powered FireWire device to a FireWire IEEE-1394b computer. Connect the 6-pin male (powered connector) to both ends for a powered cable for connecting a device to a computer, connect one 6-Pin (powered connector) to one end and one 4-pin (non-powered) to the other to connect a non powered device to a powered port or connect the 4-pin (non-powered) connectors to both ends for a non-powered cable to connect two non powered devices together. For convenience of the user, a pouch is included to store the tips in when not in use.
