The Harman Kardon® BDS 477 is a compact, all-in-one package – a 2.1-channel home theater system that will seamlessly integrate with your flat-panel video display and thoroughly transform your home entertainment experience. The system includes a flexible 3D Blu-ray Disc™ player, Bluetooth® and Apple AirPlay, with three HDMI® inputs and one output, plus access to online streaming services. Two powerful, voice-matched satellites with dual flat-panel midrange drivers and a companion 200-watt powered subwoofer deliver a riveting, fully immersive soundscape. Equipped with Dolby® Digital and DTS® audio decoding, the system reproduces movies and music from online sources, Apple mobile devices, and virtually any other source.

Two 65-watt-per-channel power amplifiers
The BDS 477’s two amplifiers, rated at 65 watts per channel, power the system’s left and right loudspeakers, which feature dual voice-matched, flat-panel drivers and CMMD® Lite dome tweeters for consistent sound from speaker to speaker. This amplifier-speaker combination dramatically improves the clarity and realism of directional sounds, even at high listening levels.

Space-saving, 200-watt powered subwoofer
Unlike conventional, front-firing subwoofers, the BDS 477’s 200-watt, 8-inch (200-millimeter) powered subwoofer fires downward, interacting with the floor for enhanced bass response. Volume, phase and bass-boost controls make it easy to synchronize bass output with the satellites and then fine-tune the system’s performance to match your room acoustics and personal preferences.

Fully integrated home theater audio system
The BDS 477 system is an all-in-one entertainment solution featuring a 3D Blu-ray Disc player with Bluetooth, three HDMI inputs and one output, two matching loudspeakers with flat-panel drivers and a downward-firing, 200-watt powered subwoofer. Using Bluetooth pairing that’s simple to set up, you can stream audio from nearly any mobile device to the BDS 477’s receiver – and enjoy a serious upgrade in playback quality. Access to streaming content services
The BDS 477 lets you stream entertainment from the YouTube, Pandora (US only) and Picasa on-line services. Enjoy movies, videos and music from the cloud with audio quality that computers and portable devices can’t touch.

Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD surround-sound decoding
The BDS 477 receiver decodes high-resolution film soundtracks in their native formats – including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD surround sound – so you hear the sounds that the filmmakers intended. You also get the best possible audio from external sources connected via HDMI technology.

Apple AirPlay music streaming
The BDS 477’s AirPlay compatibility lets you stream audio files from an Apple iOS® device to your loudspeakers and your TV or flat-panel display. You can replay audio files from any compatible iPod, iPhone or iPad, and also control your Apple TV device using the unit’s preprogrammed remote control.

HDMI technology with 3D and Audio Return Channel
HDMI connectivity helps you get the most from 3D sources, with the highest-quality digital video and audio. Three HDMI input connectors make it easy to connect 3D-capable HDMI components. And Audio Return Channel lets you listen to your TV’s audio through your home theater system instead of the TV speakers.

Reads Blu-ray Disc, DVD and CD recordings
The BDS 477’s sound system handles entertainment sources on both 5-inch (127-millimeter) and 3-inch (76-millimeter) disc formats, including BD-Video (single/double-layer), DVD-Video, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, CDDA (Compact Disc Digital Audio) and CD-R/RW discs.

Enhanced EzSet/EQ calibration
No receiver operates in a vacuum. The BDS 477 calibrates itself to its specific speaker system. Its enhanced EzSet/EQ feature automatically adjusts individual speaker volume levels, delay and equalization to create optimum performance in any room.

Companion app for smart devices
Here are two more things that your smartphone or tablet can do: control your BDS 477 receiver and enhance it. Downloadable iOS and Android™ apps enable seamless control of your entertainment system from your smart devices, as well as music streaming from those devices and more.

Play local content through DLNA or USB
The BDS 477’s USB connection and DLNA® network player let you enjoy music, video and picture files from media services, NAS (Network Attached Storage), portable players or flash drives containing most types of recorded media, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MP3, WMA and JPEG files.

Newly designed master remote control
Not ready to ditch your remote just yet? Then keep the one that eliminates the need for any others. The new BDS programmable remote controls your entire AV system, which means that you can retire all those other remotes on your coffee table.
