The IBM Active Protection System is an integrated, userconfigurablemotion sensor that continuously monitors your ThinkPad notebook and temporarily stops the hard drive to help prevent some hard drive crashes when a fall or similar event is detected. The ThinkPad R51, R50 and R40 preloaded software images are compatible with ThinkPad X31, T41 and T40 models. This image compatability makes for easier rollouts and helps save time and reduce cost by simplifying deployment and image management.
