The McKINLEY KODIAK -5 sleeping bag has plenty of technical features for staying warm in the mountains and more challenging environments - including a face warmer, thernal collar, draft tube with zip protection, thermal hood and thermal foot box - which means you will be comfortable at temperatures down to -5 degrees. It has a durable nylon ripstop shell and lining, and is suitable for body lengths up to 195cm. The Kodiak -5 can also be joined to a second bag.
Face warmer
Pre-formed hood that adjusts to the head; doesn’t bother your sleep and provides the perfect amount of warmth. The hood can be individually adjusted to the head with a drawcord.
Thermal footbox
Extra-insulated and snuggly shaped area around the feet, one of the more vulnerable areas where heat is easily lost.
Thermal collar
The thermal collar closes the sleeping bag tightly to prevent warmth to escape. This is very important in low temperatures. An integrated drawcord allows additional, individual adjustment to the body.
Thermal hood
Additional thermal collar around the face, usually offered with 3- and 4-season sleeping bags.
Draft tube with zip protection
Thermal insulation along both sides of the zipper to avoid cold bridges. This additional insulation is important in low temperatures. As a side effect, the strips of fabric also avoid zipper jams.
Two bag connected
The zipper goes all the way to the foot box and can thus be opened completely; the sleeping bag can be used as a blanket. Two sleeping bags with the same type of zipper can be connected (make sure that a sleeping bag with a zipper on the left is connected with asleeping bag with a zipper on the right).
