Tiger 12-Slot Media Converter Chassis The SMC-12MCC is a flexible and affordable solution for quick and efficient media conversion. Compatible with IEEE standards, the chassis supports up to 12 individual media converters converting 10BASE-T to 10BASE-FL, 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX, and Gigabit 1000BASE-T to Gigabit SX / LX. Additionally, both multimode and single-mode options are supported. The chassis also supports two high-quality, hot-swappable power supplies. Either power unit can be removed without disturbing the chassis’s operation – offering total efficiency, maximum redundancy, and minimum down time. Each module is supplied from a common shared power bus. As an added precaution, each is individually protected in the event of a problem on the bus or from the power supply. Each converter can also be changed without power down. The chassis was carefully designed to offer a lifetime of operation and incorporates three long-life cooling fans to ensure a cool operating environment.
