This six-color print head reproduces each color at 1,200 dpi, with 1,280 nozzles per color. With a total of 7,680 nozzles, it has the highest density and nozzle-count of any mass-produced print head in the industry. The 1-inch wide head also offers a significant increase in printing speed due to the large size of the print area for a single scan and the high nozzle density. The advanced head structure and ink-ejection control are also similar to Canon’s conventional inkjet printer heads, ensuring stable high-speed output.

The combination of a bidirectional printing capability, in which the print head moves both left and right while printing, and Canon’s proprietary image processing technology results in high speed output with high resolution and excellent image quality. The print head makes possible the creation of an A1-size print on plain paper in as little as 1.3 minutes.
