Concept E 450 Digital "5.1-Set", 4x CS 25 FCR, 1x CS 35 C, 1x US 2112/8 SW, 1x 5 Mk2, 1x 5 RC Mk2, 1x 5 Mk2 Easy set up – no A/V receiver/amplifier required
The DecoderStation 5 Mk2 functions as an A/V receiver, the subwoofer has an in-built amplifier. The five satellite speakers connect to the back of the 5.1 subwoofer with speaker cables. The subwoofer connects to the DecoderStation 5 Mk2 via three stereo cinch cables for the front L/R, centre, rear L/R and subwoofer. The DecoderStation has 8 connections in various formats for auxiliary devices. All necessary cinch cables are included.

Connect to your Blu-ray/DVD or multimedia player
Blu-ray or DVD players can be directly connected via an optical or coaxial cable for authentic 5.1 surround sound. Media players can also be connected allowing you to play digital files from your computer.

Connecting to a game console
There are the following possibilites:
- PS3: Connect an optical digital cable (AC 7515 CD, TOSLINK cable) to the optical digital input.
- Xbox 360: Via the original Xbox component/composite combi cable and then via optical digital cable (TOSLINK cable) to the optical digital input
- Wii: Via an HDMI Decoder with SPDIF Out (available separately) and then via optical digital cable (TOSLINK cable) to the optical digital input
- Wii U: Via an HDMI Decoder with SPDIF Out (available separately) and then per optical cable (TOSLINK cabel) to the optical digital input


Connecting to satellities/cable/DVB receivers/TVs
If your receiver/TV has a digital output, this can be used to generate unadulterated Dolby Digital surround sound. Just put the digital out into the digital in and you’re done. If your TV receiver doesn’t have a digital output, you can connect both analogue outputs “Audio Out” L/R with one of the three analogue output pairs on the DecoderStation 5 Mk2. Thanks to Dolby ProLogic Matric on the Teufel Decoder, very impressive sound will be the result – better than stereo, worlds above mono.

Connecting to MP3 players, smartphones, tablets, CD players & DJ mixers
Up to three of the above mentioned devices can be connected to the controller via their audio outputs/phones allowing you to switch back and forth at will. The Decoders Dolby ProLogic Matrix makes it possible to process stereo signals for the creation of an impressive surround sound from all five speakers plus subwoofer. But even plain old stereo sounds amazing with a Teufel subwoofer – powerful and dynamic.

Satellite speakers
Consono 25 - CS 25 FCRThe satellite speakers use a 2-way system with 19 mm tweeter and 80 mm midrange drivers. The centre is equipped with 2 midrange drivers for enhanced speech intelligibility. The curvature on the front enables better dispersion compared to a flat baffle. Typically Teufel high-excursion drivers create high, distortion-free levels.

The loudspeakers can be attached to the wall. AC 3500 SM wall mounts allow the speakers to be adjusted to the listening position.

Subwoofer with 700 watt integrated amplifier
The features on the new US 2002/8 SW subwoofer:

Setting up the Concept E 450 Digital as a PC System
With a PC system, it makes sense to concentrate the sound around the PC workspace. Since the centre carries the speech signals, this speaker should ideally be placed in a central location under, above, or on the monitor. The front loudspeakers can be placed at equal distance on either side of the monitor or wall mounted. Placement at ear height in a seated position is ideal, but any distance between .8 and 1.6 meters will give a good result. If placement falls outside of this range, the satellites can be angled to compensate. Integrated keyhole brackets allow all loudspeakersaside from the subwoofer to be mounted on screws on the wall.

aufstellung 1Placement of the subwofer can be freely chosen and as it will not influence the other loudspeakers. A spot that lies somewhere in a line between the two front speakers is ideal. The subwoofer, however, should not be placed in a corner as this can lead to reflections which can distort the sound. The rear speakers should be positioned behind the listening position as mirror images to the front speakers at the same level or higher. Less than ideal speaker placement can be partially compensated for in the loudspeaker control software contained in the sound card.

Arrangin the system for home cinema use
If using the set as a home cinema system, it is recommended that the listening position be centrally positioned with regard to the screen.

Since the centre relays the speech signals from dialogue, the loudspeakers need to be positioned either under or above the TV. The front speakers should be placed in stereo style (distance to the listener = distance between the left and right speaker) at equidistance to the right and left of the television either on the floor or mounted to the wall. To this end, optional stands or wall mounts are ideally suited. The use of stands automatically guarantees an optimal height. Wall mounts allow for a vertical and horizontal adjustment of the speakers to the listening position.

aufstellung 2For either wall or shelf placement the same rule applies: the height should be between 40 cm and 1.6 meters. If placement lies outside of these values, the front speakers can always be angled towards the listening positions. The important thing is that the centre and front speakers are evenly spaced around the television in a slight arc.

If you need to sit closer, make sure that the front the speakers are not angled directly at you. It is better to have them face into the room instead. Less than ideal speaker placement can be partially compensated for in the loudspeaker management setting in the DecoderStation 5 Mk2.
