Praim introduces Windows Embedded 8 Standard on its Thin Client Compact Dual Core Series
The first Thin Client with the latest version of the Microsoft OS has been released
Trento, Italy – July 21st, 2014 - Praim, a global manufacturer of Thin & Zero client solutions, introduces a new model in its family of Compact Dual Core Series thin client, based on the hardware platform with processor VIA Eden X2 Dual Core at 1GHz and VX900chipset.
The new C9080 model integrates Windows Embedded 8 Standard, the new operating system from Microsoft with reduced footprint, for high reliability and flexibility. The C9080 model is the first Thin Client by Praim with a 64bit OS. Starting from a base of 4GB RAM and 16GB flash drive, it provides high performance and the ability to install applications or custom components in a secure and protected way, maintaining all standards of safety and durability guaranteed by thin clients.
The native multitouch support offered by Windows 8 allows to use it as a workstation with touch screen monitor for implementing kiosks or innovative vertical solutions.
Thanks to the centralized management console via the Praim ThinMan software, the entire Thin Client infrastructure can be remotely managed from a single remote point.
The Compact Dual Core Series family presents a sleek and compact design, with native support for dual DVI monitor, up to 6 USB ports (4 external, 1 protected slot and 1 internal), Gigabit LAN connectivity, mouse and keyboard PS2, audio in/out, built-in speaker, and the possibility to be installed on the back of the monitor with a VESA bracket. Available also with native serial port RS232, as an alternative to one of the DVI port.
The new model integrates the latest Citrix Receiver 4.1 with HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection (Client Rendered) and HDX RealTime for Webam to access Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp infrastructures, the Horizon View Client 3.0 for VMware Horizon infrastructures and the RDP 8.0 protocol with Remote FX support for the highest performance with Microsoft RDS environments.
