Built for flexibility
The interactive pen display connects to your computer, so you can interact with media-rich content on a high-definition (HD) widescreen display and project your work onto a large screen or interactive whiteboard so everyone can see. Open presentations, documents, applications, websites and multimedia files, write notes over them in digital ink and save your work for distribution or later reference. The versatile interactive pen display works as a powerful presentation tool and supports collaboration in virtually any learning space, from small classrooms or labs to large auditoriums. It can add flexibility to rooms already equipped with SMART Board interactive whiteboards or displays, because you can work with content from anywhere in the room and share it on the interactive whiteboard or display. SMART Podium can also support distance education – teachers and students can share screens using SMART Bridgit conferencing software and mark up documents and files as if they were in the same room.

With the SMART Podium interactive pen display, you can create and deliver engaging, interactive, digital presentations. Because your lesson material is in front of you and displayed on a large screen, you won't need to turn away from your students or become distracted by a computer and mouse. The display's tethered pen acts as a mouse to navigate content on your screen – simply touch the interactive screen with the tethered pen to control computer applications and write notes in multiple digital ink colors over applications, slides, websites and videos. The Smooth Tilt Stand helps support a natural writing posture, while intuitive function buttons – illuminated for dimly lit rooms – enable you to change ink colors, erase, highlight and emphasize content, access the mouse function, and save and share your work.

With that kind of control over your digital resources, you can focus on keeping students engaged by demonstrating ideas and concepts more effectively, highlighting key points as they come up and capturing comments and questions.

Create and share course material digitally
The SMART Podium interactive pen display is integrated with SMART Notebook collaborative learning software, which lets you create, deliver and manage interactive lesson materials easily and effectively. You can instantly bring images, videos and Flash objects into your material, either from SMART Notebook software's Gallery or from your own files. You can use a multitude of interactive tools within the software to help you energize materials and bring lessons to life.

You can write notes during lessons, add comments from discussions and clarify material as you present it. Notes and multimedia can be saved as objects that can be manipulated, reorganized and reused. You can also save digital notes directly into several software applications, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word or Excel, Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD software. SMART Notebook software also enables you to e-mail saved files to students or colleagues at any time during your presentation.

Available in widescreen 18.5" (47 cm) or 24" (61 cm) displays, with a native 16:9 widescreen resolution, SMART Podium is ideal for displaying and manipulating HD material in fine detail. The interactive pen display has flexible scaling options to support 16:10 and 4:3 resolutions. It can connect to your computer and projector by DVI or VGA. There are three high-speed USB 2.0 ports to connect peripherals such as USB drives, document cameras or personal mobile devices. It is also high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) compliant to ensure HDCP-encrypted content can be displayed.
